Bed and Breakfast in Massachusetts

Not ashamed to admit… I am a self-confessed hotel snob. Blessed to have stayed in some of the best Luxury resorts across the country… I wondered about a Bed And Breakfast, they look adorable and always wanted to stay in a historic home. Wally and I are heading to the east coast for work; this would be a perfect opportunity. Intrigued… and nervous- I booked the room.

Walking to the door we are greeted by Andrea the Inn owner; she welcomes us in; being a newbie I asked the rules of the home… happy to hear no cell phone in the common areas, and treat this home as your own.  She gives us the tour of the home; I ask all my questions… blowing my cover as a seasoned B&Ber.

The home is warm and welcoming- very clean and beautifully decorated.  Walking past both living areas, we step into the Sunroom. This will be a beautiful spot for our breakfast tomorrow. Next is the bed part of the Bed and Breakfast.

We chose this room for the decor and the door leading to the outside porch. The bedroom is romantic and cozy with two comfy chairs by the window. Perfect to relax, enjoy the fire and read a book.  I could use this spot, as of now I am about 30 books behind.

The bathroom is a good size.. not crowded, and the view from the window is beautiful. I have always wanted a big yard with green grass, trees, and a tire swing. So far, I am loving this Bed and Breakfast Inn.

We settle in our new room and head out to explore. After a long day, we return to find cookies waiting in the breakfast area. With a good night rest, we are looking forward to breakfast with a view.

Breakfast; Fresh fruit, cheese, and crackers- Second-morning a delicious muffin. Both morning breakfast cuisine is delightful, hot and perfectly timed.

After Breakfast Andrea’s husband, David offers suggestions and shortcuts to must-see landmarks. We drove to the ferry for Martha’s Vineyard and Providence town.

Before leaving the area, we walked to the famous lighthouse where the move is staring Chris Pine was based.  “The Finest Hour” depicts the historic rescue deployed from  the Chatham lighthouse

Our first experience at the bed and Breakfast could not have gone any better. We enjoyed staying at the Chatham Gables Inn, as much as luxury resorts. A certified Diamond Collection, this property will not disappoint.
