Mother Daughter Road Trip Atlanta
As moms, we spend as much time as we can with our children…before we know it time flies and they have lives of there own. When given the opportunity for me and my daughter to spend several days together, I am all in. Atlanta Road Trip here come the Knipp Girls.
Flying in from Phoenix where our Atlanta road trip will begin. We needed to be centrally located as we were meeting with the Knipp Contracting team (my day job) for dinner. We Stayed at the lovely J.W Marriott in Buckhead, Atlanta adjacent is Lenox Square mall. A big hit for Ashley and myself. The wonderful part about this trip is I get to spend alone time with her, it is one on one time. She is growing up so fast.. for a few days life slows down just enough to get to know we again.
Our room is spacious and lovely views of downtown Atlanta.. seating next to the window is a perfect place to relax- maybe get some writing in before heading out for the day.
Had a couple of hours before dinner with the Knipp Contracting team… we headed to the Martin Luther King Historical site. The Ebenezer Baptist Church where Martin Luther King Jr and his family worshiped. I love that she shares the same love of exploring as I do.
Audio is set up to hear Rev. Martin Luther King; Jr speaks; as if we are in church praying with the congregation. “Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., was baptized as a child in the church. After giving a trial sermon to the congregation at Ebenezer at the age of 19, Martin was ordained as a minister.”
Back at the hotel, the Lounge at the J.W Marriott offers a nice place to relax. We enjoyed a small snack and a drink in the lounge before heading out to dinner with the team.
Ashley, myself and the Knipp Contracting team had dinner at the Atlanta Fish Market. Crab cakes were fantastic- known for the Flash Fried Lobster… does not disappoint.
Before hitting the open road to Sewanee we experienced the Rodeo drive of Atlanta. The Shops at Buckhead – Lunch At Le Bilboquet …Sitting outside is prime people watching. Ashley caught me in deep thought; I am sure it was about having dessert. She thinks she’s so funny.
Exploring The Shops a Buckhead was fun, its time to hit the open road before traffic from Irma becomes too much. We stopped for Georgia peaches, peach Moonshine Jam and tried boiled peanuts. Good times talking and laughing on our way to Tennessee.
